Model Planes and Schools

Lloyd Shales and friends have been taking bookings of about 1.5 days of school time in order to share the science and fun of model aviation. My favourite artifact from his presentation is the wild turkey feather. It’s so light yet extremely rigid and strong.

That block of wood is a Jig for setting the dihedral angle of the Minnow which is the plane he takes to the classrooms. They use that jig and CA glue to set the wing angle.

He also has lots of printed materials and a test at the end.

I feel that flight is interesting and I’m actually making a Web site with everything you need to know about how flight works and many of it’s applications (natural and engineered).
