Here's a flight I did earlier. It "specked out" for a while but came down eventually.
Here, I loose it in a tree. I was able to throw my shoe at it for a few minutes to get it down without damage.

Interesting facts about elastic bands
Did you know that an elastic band shrinks when you heat it? Unlike other substances the molecules are very organized. Not like a crystal but more like strings.
